Just as we’ve gotten settled back into our routines after “The Holidays,” there’s another holiday. Martin Luther King Day, a federal and state holiday, is tomorrow, Jan. 19.
Greene County employees are not taking the day as one of the 10 allowed paid holidays. Courthouse offices will be open regular hours, 8 am to 4:30 pm, and the Greene County board of supervisors will meet at 8:30 am. Also, the Greene County Community Center will be open regular hours, 5 am to 9:30 pm.
Jefferson city offices, the Jefferson public library, the Greene County Chamber and Development office, the Greene County ISU Extension office and the state clerk of court office at the courthouse will all be closed.
Garbage will be picked up in Jefferson on the holiday schedule with all routes picked up one day later than usual.
Monday is not an attendance day for Greene County and Paton-Churdan students. The teachers have a scheduled professional development day.
